I have been on a bit of a break. I didn’t deactivate any of my social networks or turn off my phone. However, I’ve been spending less time on my social networks. I have realized that, sometimes you have to just step back from what you are doing and seek God. I tweet about God so much, but what does that matter if I spend no time with God? I don’t mean a prayer in the morning, night and before a meal. Nor do I mean reading a few psalms and moving along with my “busy” schedule. I mean quality time. Maybe I won’t do a 40 day fast, but am I willing to do whatever it takes to reach Christ? God has called his people to be holy, set apart. Every now and then we must separate ourselves from people and the things that we are entangled with. God cannot speak to us if we aren’t listening. He may speak, but we will never hear since our ears are occupied by so many other sources. God told Jeremiah, “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.” (Jeremiah 18:2). There we clearly see, that God won’t speak to us in our present state. We have to get up and separate ourselves from our environments so that we can hear the voice of God! After Jeremiah went there, God clearly spoke to him.
One thing I have found out is that the devil won’t always tempt you to sin. He knows many will say no to certain temptations, but if he cannot get us to sin, he will get us to be distracted. Many of us will literally text all day and not be bored, but the moment we try to read our bibles for 15 minutes, it feels like we have been torturing ourselves for 2 hours. Many of us will talk and gossip, or just listen to it, but can’t pray for 30 minutes. There’s a bible app on most of our phones, but do we open it? By the time you hit verse 3, BAM, a text comes in and your attention is immediately drawn away. Claiming to love Christ, but some of us pay more attention to boyfriends and girlfriends. Driving a nice car and wearing nice outfits, but living a filthy, sinful lifestyle. Judging? No. Showing you how we so easily get distracted? Yes. Can spend hours in malls and watch movies for hours, but we won’t go out and evangelize to the people in the mall. Paralyzed by fear of rejection. When it isn’t you, but Christ they refuse. The devil makes you feel as though your feelings are more important than God’s work.
You don’t have sex outside of marriage, you don’t steal, and you’re early to church. All of that is good, but that isn’t a free pass to Heaven. God didn’t call you to fulfill a “to-do list”. He called you into a relationship. So many overlook the Old Testament, but the entire bible shows the same, one God. God states that he is jealous (See Exodus 34:14). Jealous for your time, affection, and love. It’s not about giving God a Sunday and then the rest of the week you’re leaving him out. The church isn’t a place for a weekly pit stop, we are called to be the church. Going into a building doesn’t make you a Christian, because going into a garage doesn’t make you a car. God wants to dwell in you and have fellowship with you. We cannot get the impression that Jesus died on the cross just for us to read the bible once a year and attend church when we have time.
We claim we want more of God, but do we sacrifice what it takes to actually get it? When Jesus told his disciples to follow him, they let go of certain things and followed (See Mark 1:18). When Elisha first had an encounter with Elijah, he immediately wanted to let go of everything and follow him. Elisha was working and Elijah through the mantle upon him. Immediately, he said let him say goodbye to his parents and follow him (See 1 Kings 19:19-21). So many pray and ask God for a double portion or for His anointing, but who said you even qualify for it? If you don’t spend time with God, you’ll never have a connection with God. There are signs that follow believers, but one aspect of believing is to “adhere to”. If you’re not connected to the source, you’ll have no power! We can’t do anything outside of God (John 15:1-6). We claim we want to be able to lay hands on the sick and recover like the apostles, but do we spend the time in prayer like they did?
Jesus didn’t do all of those miracles on earth because He was God. Jesus walked on water, but Peter walked on the same water. Jesus raised the dead, and Elisha raised the dead. Jesus healed the sick, Peter and John healed the sick. Jesus didn’t do great things just because of His deity, but because of His relationship. He prayed for hours! While everyone was asleep or “busy”, He was up in the mountain praying. We pray for minutes and expect the same results. How do you expect to tear down Satan’s strongholds and you can’t even turn off your television? Why do you think you can become the next great apostle or become an anointed man/woman of God when you can’t go a day without a phone? You can’t love God more than anything, but you do things to please a boyfriend/girlfriend that you know are sinful. To be anointed, you must go through many test and trials, many of us complain before the test begins. God is not going to give you something you can’t handle, and He will not put the mantle in dirty hands. Think about it.
The closer you are too God, is the further you are away from sin. So do you really want to be closer to God? Because those secret things that you are trying to hide, they need to be laid aside (See Hebrews 12:1-3). God will not draw near to you, unless you are drawing near to Him. God cannot speak to you if you are spending hours on these social networks. Spending hours on Instagram, looking at lustful pictures, when God said flee fornication and youthful lusts (See 1 Corinthians 6:18 and 2 Timothy 2:22).
It is so easy to get carried away. We can spend hours preaching to others and still go to Hell. Did you know that was possible? Paul said he has to keep his body under subjection, because he doesn’t want to preach people into Heaven and he still goes to Hell (See 1 Corinthians 9:24-27). Many church goers will go to Hell, because they didn’t take the relationship outside of church. They taught holiness, but didn’t practice it. Loved God on Sunday, but decided to never get to know Him during the week.
Stop and think. When you woke up today, what was the first thing you did? Reach for the phone or lift your hands and tell God thanks for another day? Things as little as that will show us what we value most. We can tell our values by where we spend our time, talent, and treasures. Today you should make the conscious effort to put God back on the top of your agendas, and keep Him there! Don’t let the things of this world distract you. Don’t get consumed trying to gain these worldly possessions and you lose your soul in the process. Evaluate your life today, and cut off everything that hinders you from God.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Matthew 5:29-30)
– The bible clearly tells us, it’s better to go to Heaven without some things, than to go to Hell with “everything”.
– It is time to cut off certain things and relationships, because they distract us from God.
– Would you prefer going to Heaven without a phone, than going to Hell because of your iPhone?
– Would you rather go to Heaven because of your sexual purity, or would you prefer going to Hell because you wanted to please your flesh or your boyfriend/girlfriend?
– Would you rather seek God and make it into Heaven, than seeking popularity on social networks and burning in Hell?
Nothing in this life is worth jeopardizing your relationship with Christ. I rather be an outcast for Christ, than being casted out into Hell.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. (Philippians 3:7)
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16)
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)

Ready or Not, Here I Come

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matthew 24:36)
Since time has begun, it was given an expiration date. This life that we live, will eventually end. I know everyone wants to stay young or they want to grow old and see their grandchildren. However, at some point we will ALL die. Young and old, every race, every gender, strong or weak, popular or not, no matter what category you choose to label yourself, you will die one day. Whether being from violence, sickness, old age, accidents, drowning/burning, and so many different others. Am I trying to scare you? No way! Am I trying to open your eyes to reality? YES! We will all die (unless we get raptured first)! Does that mean to walk around everyday depressed or wondering if your next? No, we should live our lives always ready to go.
For over 2,000 years many Christians have been expecting to see the return of Jesus Christ The Lord. I say many because it is clear that many of us aren’t expecting Christ to come now. I have been hearing all of my life that Jesus is coming back, so I know it can become a ritual and be so easily ignored. However, if Jesus doesn’t come back today, I can still die today. I know Drake, Lil Wayne, Nikki Minaj, Jay Z, Trey Songz, etc. says “YOLO” (You Only Live Once), so go out and have fun. Here is what the wisest man to ever live have to say about that:
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. (Ecclesiastes 11:9)
So yes, go out and have fun!!! Do EVERYTHING you choose to do, but always remember, God is going to judge us by our actions. Do you really think that these guys should influence your life? These guys are the devil’s agents. They promote the devil’s agenda, they cause your flesh to be stronger than your spirit, and they stop you from hearing God’s voice. Many of us are so blind that Jesus is returning because we listen to artists, people, movies, etc. and don’t give God a chance to talk to us! I believe that YOLO should be no excuse to live a careless or ignorant life. We should know that since we only have one opportunity, lets impact the world and live for God so that we can live again!
“Everything is permissible”–but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible”–but not everything is constructive. (1 Corinthians 10:23)
The crazy thing is, everyone says they want to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die. It seems as though we find this corrupt, sinful, dark world to be more pleasurable than an eternity with God. Nothing in this world satisfies more than the presence of God, see Psalm 16:11.
Live a life so that the preacher doesn’t have to lie at your funeral. “When he/she was 7/11/16/21 they accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal savior. Yeah, but they can’t tell the part where you decided to leave church, stray away from God, sleeping around, partying, joining gangs, etc. I have been to several funerals and everyone says they’re in Heaven. That is clearly saying the bible is false, because Jesus said be born again (John 3:5-7). The bible says without following peace with men and holiness, no man will see God (Hebrews 12:14). So you just clearly stated that a sinner is going to the same place as a child of God, FALSE! I’m not throwing anyone in Hell, I’m only stating what the word of God says.
Harold Camping stated the world should’ve ended May 21,2011. After he spoke, people began to go crazy. Quitting jobs, selling homes, and hitting the nearest church. After that day, he and all his followers must have felt really foolish. I’m glad he got souls to go to church, but he clearly went against the Word of God. He wasn’t the first one to predict a date and be wrong. No man knows when this world will end. Yet we all know one thing, it must end some day. Will you be ready to meet Jesus? If you’re late for Heaven, you’re on time for Hell. If we aren’t right with God, we will be left behind. When this false 12/21/12 prophecy blows over, don’t think that Jesus isn’t coming back. This is only a distraction! Stay focused on Jesus!
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28)
“Ready or not, Here I come.” – Jesus

Do You Know Him?

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (Matthew 15:8)
We often believe that we have “arrived” and so easily get complacent. Jesus said this statement to “religious” people. So many of us attend church and just let it stop there. We go to church with our nice outfits, sing nice songs, and when we leave we go back to our daily routines. “Jesus isn’t an old hymnal. You cannot leave him in the pews, and then come back for Him next Sunday service.” Many believe church attendance considers them as a Christian, when we are actually called to be the church! God wants to dwell within us. If you based salvation on church attendance, what happens to those who have to travel and can’t find a church? Or the churches that were destroyed by hurricanes? God doesn’t want your salvation to be based on the church, but to be centered on Christ.
I have noticed that many people are beginning to misunderstand what it actually means to be a Christian. Being a Christian isn’t about “do’s” and “don’t’s”. It’s about loving Jesus and falling out of love with the world (sin). Yet, we often take it as a “to-do list”: Pray when I wake up, before I eat and before I sleep (check). Read a few chapters in my bible (check). Don’t fornicate (check). Give offering (check). Tweet about Jesus (check). Stop and think, doesn’t this contradict the words of Jesus? God wants us to be madly in love with Him. Not in love with ministry or taking privileges as chores. We must know that we are blessed to be able to read the bible. When there are so many who can’t read or think the bible is false. I know I’m grateful to read and get revelation of the Creator of this universe! Living holy isn’t for me to earn a spot in Heaven. I want to live holy because He is holy and I’ll do anything to prove my love to Him. If He can sacrifice His life for mine, I can live my life for Him.
Many churches are being filled with preachers that don’t know God. Is that arrogant of me to say? No, it’s obvious. People seem to follow those with degrees in theology and divinity, but don’t go to churches where the preacher has the power of God speaking through them! It is the anointing that destroys the yoke (Isaiah 10:27), not a masters degree. People are reading bibles and not knowing God. There isn’t anything wrong with knowing theology, but answer this: If you were sick, would you rather hear about the Greek definition of healing or would you prefer someone with an connection to God come and speak healing into your spirit? Many of us grew up upset with our parents because they would tell us “no” to certain things. Yet, they didn’t do it out of hate, but most times they actually knew what was best for you and knew you should stay away. Why would you listen to a preacher, or friend, that always says you’re right? A person that never corrects you does not care about your future and wouldn’t mind you destroying yourself. Likewise with preachers that never say repent, and preach grace as a license to sin. We must let the church know, grace is extended to those who repent and turn to God. Stop listening to preachers who just want to feed you candy all day. You’ll end up a spiritual diabetic with rotten teeth!
I may not know much, but one thing I know is that people without an connection to God will not be in Heaven. Lets be realistic, God sees that you get bored during worship and don’t even care to listen to preachers when they mention holiness or repentance. Why would He want to upset you and put you in Heaven? If we plan to spend eternity with God, shouldn’t we prepare ourselves from now? God wants true worshippers, not church bench warmers.
Living for Christ is more than attending church, putting “I love Jesus” in your bio, speaking in tongues, and joining 47 different ministries at church. Does God actually know your voice? Or does He only hear from you in times of trouble? We have to take God out of the passenger seat, let Him drive! Surrender to Him. Our lives should line up with the word of God. The way we talk, dress, our music, our company, and our social networks should line up with God. Let’s study His word more than we text. Pray more than we talk. Stop gossiping and condemning people, and start loving and helping them. Lets start fasting, it will be hard because fasting puts your flesh into subjection! In good times or bad, lets develop a prayerful and thankful mindset.
Death seems to be the scariest thought to cross someone’s mind, but that actually isn’t bad. Death without Christ has to be the worst thing ever. If you know Christ, Heaven is where you want to be. Always remember, we will live forever. The life we live right now determines where we spend eternity. Lets not neglect God and start seeking Him. The world may not end today, but I may not live to see tomorrow. So let me ask you do this, do you really know Jesus?

Have you ever reached to the point where you’re completely confused and just want to scream, curse, or do something you may regret? Asking God, “why me? What did I do to deserve this? How come I’m serving you the best way I know how and it seems the more I try is the harder it gets?” This is common in everyone’s life, your struggle may be different than mine, but we will all struggle.
Questions like these show us a few things:
• We either don’t read our bible or don’t believe it, because the bible says we will have problems.
• Your faith needs to elevate because fear is playing tricks on your mind.
• We expect God to give us an easy life, but that is far from the truth.
• We are not quite sure how God develops character.
God is saying in return, “Why not you? How can you be afraid because of bills, when I promised to be a provider? Why are you crying, because I allowed you to be sick? You won’t die, I want you to endure something for my glory. I can raise the dead and you question my power at every obstacle?
No matter how big your problems are or how confusing your life gets, always remember, God is in control. If I want to testify to nonbelievers that God is a healer, wouldn’t someone have to be sick first for me to know that? If I wanted the world to know that God is all they need, then wouldn’t I have to be down to nothing? We can’t testify of what we do not know or haven’t seen. God doesn’t like false witnesses (Proverbs 6:19). Someone has to go through something for us to know that our God is the only God and He is able to do great things.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. (Psalms 34:19)
• Afflictions are a promise from God. You will have to go through something if you’re a righteous person. However, the bible also promises that God will deliver us from them all!
• People breakdown under pressure when they’re not totally dependent on God. You were actually trusting in your own intellect, money, friends etc., but now you’re overwhelmed because your resources failed and your faith wasn’t in God. Put your faith back in Him, man will fail you.
Afflictions actually help you:
• Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. (Psalm 119:67)
• It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. (Psalms 119:71)
• Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (James 1:3)
• Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13)
I cannot tell anyone that afflictions are easy to handle, that would be a lie. We just have to know, God wouldn’t give us more than we could handle. Half of the battles you face would’ve caused someone else to lose their mind! God knows He could ONLY trust you with this obstacle. His toughest battles go to His toughest soldiers. He gives us tough tests to show us how much potential we have in our lives. God has to break us down to pieces before He gives us that breakthrough! The anointing over our lives will not be recognized or maximized to its maximum potential until we have much problems to overcome.
It is time for this generation of believers to stop worrying and start worshiping. It is time for us to stop complaining and start praising. God is going to get the glory through you, if you allow Him. He’s refining you in the fire. Jesus couldn’t rise as king if He wasn’t first crucified. There will be no crown given to those who won’t crucify their will, flesh, and carnal mindset. God gives beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3), so you have to be burnt to get this beauty. I know this is a difficult thing to grasp or want to accept, but God also gave you another promise concerning this: If you suffer with Him, you will reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12).
Children of God, you are not weak! Even if you are, God’s word said you are to declare that you are strong (Joel 3:10). Start turning to God in the midst of trials. Get into His word and His presence, don’t just turn to people. God has a purpose that He wants to fulfill in your life, will you allow Him?
God bless,

Desperate Christians

I am really grateful that Jesus Christ would come on this earth to die for my sins. However, I don’t think Christ died just for me to attend church. Many do not understand what it means to “accept Christ”. It is more than believing He exists. It requires total dependence on Him and having an actual relationship with Him outside of your church. When Christ died he wasn’t only making a new covenant. He was also providing the gateway to Heaven. In John 14:6, Jesus said He is “the way”. That wasn’t only signifying getting into Heaven. Jesus is the way to our destiny, he’s the way to eternal life, and he’s the only way we can live above sin.
Unfortunately, many Christians have become comfortable. Souls are dying without knowing Christ, but instead of us preaching the gospel to them we rather be in our phones all day. We cannot say “Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me”, and then we hide Him from people. We sing songs like “To worship You, I live. I live to worship You(Jesus)”, but we forget about Christ during the week. Jesus wants to be in every part of our life. We cannot pick God up for church services and put Him down at school, around friends, or at work. Jesus didn’t come on earth and die for us to just go to church and wear long skirts, nice hats, fancy suits, sing a few songs, hear a well put together sermon to leave and live like an atheist. Being a Christian is not just speaking in tongues, it is living the way Jesus did.
God is looking for someone desperate for more of Him. Someone willing to seek Him in the good and bad, money or no money, car or on the bus, new clothes or borrowed clothes! A man or woman that will read the bible to know more of God, not just a couple times a week. Someone willing to pray before they get a bad report. It is time to go beyond the external and get a hunger for the One, true Living God!
Jacob wrestled with God all night. God had to touch the hollow of his thigh, which basically dislocated it, to get Him to stop. Jacob’s response was that “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” (See Genesis 32:22-32)
  • Jacob ended up getting the blessing, all because of his persistence. So many would’ve probably just let go once we were asked, but Jacob was determined to get something from God.
  • After this experience, God changed His name from Jacob to Israel and changed his body. So we see here that any man who has a real worship experience or something intimate with God, will not walk the same as before and will have a new identity.
The woman with the issue of blood could have accepted her sickness and just died, Matthew 9:20-22.
  • Doctors could not help her at all, for 12 years. She could have just accepted that and died.
  • She had a need and was desperate for it to be met! She knew Jesus was able to heal her and she had faith to just touch the hem of His garment. By faith she was healed.
  • Many were bumping into Jesus, because it was packed. What made her any different from anyone in there in need of deliverance? Her faith and desperation!
The reason why many of us aren’t filled with God’s spirit, is because we are not hungry or thirsty enough yet. It is a promise from God that everyone hungry or thirsty for righteousness will be filled, Matthew 5:6. And the truth is, if you aren’t hungry for God, you have your affections on something else. There should be no idol in our lives, God is a jealous God. We have to desire more of Him and stop settling on being mediocre Christians, it is time to seek Christ like never before. No matter what we do in life, if we don’t give it our all, we are wasting our time. Now you tell me, are you desperate for more of Jesus?
